A couple weeks ago while preparing for the Melodic Rock Fest in Scandinavia, the band The Grand Masquerade, was hit with a huge loss when thieves made off with instruments, costumes, equipment, computer gear, clothes and more. While the total cost of all of this is still not known, many of the items are beyond putting a dollar value on. Guitars and equipment that were limited edition or one of a kind. Items that as expensive as they are also hold a sentimental value that will never be replaced.
Thankfully at the festival other musicians came together to loan instruments and gear to allow the band to perform their set, albeit without their standard costumes which were also taken in the robbery.
Insurance will help with approximate 50% of the loss but the rest is out of pocket.
As the operator of KB Radio and someone who works with Independent artists and knows how tough the industry is, trying to replace so much equipment is not going to be easy for them. I am looking for a couple things here.
