My name is Johnno Lazetich, founder of the Golden Gate Project (GGP). Over the past 2 years it has been our goal to develop programs to bring joy to kids feeling isolated due to health challenges.
One of our pilot programs was the introduction of Silent Disco* headphones to the children, their families and staff members at the Renown Children’s Hospital. Wireless colored light up headphones were handed out to patients rooms as we transmitted music and hosted Bingo games. For over 4 hours we preserved the quiet hospital environment while orchestrating throughout the entire pediatric floor, a full silent disco dance party and bingo games. The experience just defied description! Everyone was mesmerized.
For weeks after our first event, stories were still being told about how a patient walked for the first time in 2 weeks since her surgery** or how astonished a nurse became as we made a parent smile for the first time in days.
The Golden Gate Project is designed to bring healing music and camaraderie to children dealing with health challenges.
Our Children’s Hospital Silent Disco Bingo Program introduces Silent Disco Headphones as an innovative tool designed to support young patients and their families during hospitalization and medical procedures.
Here's a look at what others are saying over with the NV Diabetes association:
The Nevada Diabetes Association, 2nd largest provider of diabetes education camps in the US, for 21 years, has been teaching kids with diabetes how to self-manage medications, learn proper diet and exercise habits and meet other kids like themselves. +3,200 kids with diabetes attend NDA diabetes education camps every year.
The Golden Gate Bridge Project (GGBP) , brainchild of Johnno Lazetich, had a magnificent maiden voyage this last Tuesday, at the Nevada Diabetes Associations Camp Buck up at South Lake Tahoe. The GGBP is a Nevada Diabetes Association Project designed to bring healing music and Camaraderie to children dealing with health challenges. The pilot test at Camp Buck was an amazing experience for the 120 diabetic children and 80 staff members, most of whom are also type 1 diabetics. Colored strobe headphones were worn by all with different music played to different groups. The videos can be seen on the NDA’s facebook page. The experience just defies description! You will have to see it to believe it! Everyone was mesmerized by the experience and still talking about it. The GGBP will bring so much joy to so many kids that feel isolated due to health challenges. Your support of this incredible and innovative Project will help so many children dealing with chronic disease.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Diana
