The GEMS Camp Pi Day Fundraiser!
Since 2010, The GEMS Camp has engaged hundreds of girls in Dallas, Texas in STEM. Our research-based holistic approach addresses risk factors that are barriers for traditionally undeserved and underrepresented subpopulations in STEM -- female minorities and/or those from low socio-economic backgrounds. Learn more about us at www.thegemscamp.org.
To celebrate Pi Day, we are campaigning to raise $3140, which will go towards financial scholarships for our 2019 summer programming -- Summer Camp Experience and Global Summer Travel Experience. In the spirit of Pi Day, we want you to join our worthy cause -- empowering girls in STEM by donating and amount of $31.40 or $314.00. Or, you can customize your gift to any size. It all adds up! For U.S. donors, your gifts are 100% tax deductible under the U.S. IRS tax code (TIN: 46-3363376), and you will receive a financial contribution statement via email for tax purposes.
Leading up to Pi Day, we will be sharing Pi factoids and a little Pi humor.
Win a FREE pie! A random drawing will be held on March 16, 2019 at 2pm CST. All persons donating a gift of $50 or more will be entered to win a free pie from a local bakery of your choice. Global STEM trip to Italy last year, we are continuing our Global Travel Experience to the sunny destination of Dubai! By partnering with us, you can change the trajectory of a girls' future by giving her U.S. Passport access to the world.
ABOUT PI DAY
It is a day to celebrate the mathematical constant pi (π) and to eat lots of pie. ...Celebrated in countries that follow the month/day (m/dd) date format, because the digits in the date, March 14 or 3/14, are the first three digits of π (3.14), Pi Day was founded by Physicist Larry Shaw in 1988.
