The Food Pantry 10 Year Anniversary

November 3, 2018 marks the 10 Year Anniversary of The Food Pantry at All Saints Episcopal Church, San Leandro. An average of over 100 guests come to each pantry, bringing food home to more than 300 household members. Based on our careful tracking, over the course of 10 years, we've passed food into the hands of those who need it 45,788 times!
The pantry brings together volunteers from both the church and the wider community to offer food on the first Saturday of every month, and the first and third Saturdays in November and December. The Food Pantry at All Saints Episcopal Church is a model food pantry, empowering its guests in their choice of what they eat. The church hall turns into a ‘grocery store’ model with different tables where guests are able to choose exactly what they want, including fresh produce, honoring their dignity and enabling choice in picking foods that fit their diet, beliefs, and preferences.
The 10 Year Anniversary Food Pantry will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018. Food is available to residents of Alameda County and volunteers are always welcome. Volunteers report at 11:30am. The Hospitality Room with snacks for guests opens at 12:00pm. Food distribution is from 1:00-2:00pm.
