The Curtain Rises - Bully Zero
Donation protected
At just 19 years of age, Thomas Currie is currently performing in his debut cabaret, ‘The Curtain Rises’, which is raising money to implement anti-bullying programs in primary and secondary schools Australia-wide.
During his final year of secondary school at Ivanhoe Grammar, Thomas successfully auditioned for Australia’s most prestigious creative arts school, The Queensland Conservatorium and is currently undertaking his first year of study.
Thomas has immense passion for teaching and mentoring students and has acted as a vocal coach and artist in residence for schools.
In 2017, Thomas reunited with the primary school he loves and attended, Templestowe Park Primary School. It was here that he made the initiative to run programs with the Grade 6 classes to negotiate the transition from primary to secondary school to settle student’s concerns. Through the workshops, Thomas identified that bullying was a paramount issue so he teamed up with the charity, Bully Zero to make a difference for many kids and teens around the country. You can read more about Bully Zero here: www.bullyzero.org.au
The funds raised from this initiative will cover the set up and performance costs associated with the show, allowing all of the funds raised via ticket sales to be directed to anti-bullying programs. Any surplus funds raised from the Go Fund Me after costs will also be directed to the Bully Zero campaign.
Costs associated with the show include:
Venue Hire, Piano Hire, Lighting & Sound, Marketing.
*The performers are all donating their time for this worthy cause.
