The "C" Word (Comedy) Show
Donation protected
I started performing stand up comedy when I was 18 at a comedy competition at Pratt University in Brooklyn New York. I won! That was the beginning of a five-year comedy career from which I took a break at 23 to get a "real" job. I did great and made a lot of money but then I was hit by a drunk driver while driving to that "real" job and unfortunately, I became handicapped from back and neck injuries. I was 32. I am now 42 and I live with chronic pain. I have resisted filing for disability insurance but soon I will have no choice. So, I keep on keepin' on!
And It's going great! In October of 2017, I got a request from the mother of a young child who suffers from PANDAS, (A neurological illness) to perform an adult stand-up show as a fundraiser! I did the benefit show at The Cornerstone Event Center located at the New Hope Firehouse. It was attended by close to 300 people and they raised $25, 000 for the cause. It awakened the comedian in me again and I began working toward doing developing this show, The "C" Word, on Saturday, July 28th, 2018 at The Music Mountain Theatre in Lambertville. I decided that maybe I could pay the theatre rental fee (or even a deposit) by raising money here. I do a lot of benefit shows that I don't charge for so, I'm not asking for total charity. I think of this as selling advanced tickets! Donations of $75 or more will receive 2 tickets to the show!
Thanks for taking the time to read this and thanks for helping me reach my goal!
