Raised by 77 people in 4 months
Joy Burns (My Mother) had a brain tumor removed September of 2017 following a battle with cancer. Ms. Burns has been in and out of the hospital several times in the past 3 months because of her surgery which, has prevented her from working. My family would greatly appreciate any donation toward our medical and daily exspenses.

With the generous donations of all the kind people who took the time to read my story, we have raised over $1000 for my mother. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with another tumor that can't be reached and surgically removed and is too big that radiation will not eliminate the cancer. My mom has been given an estimated time untill roughly June of 2019 to live. Again I thank everyone so much for their generous donations and the money raised will go to the bills that me and my brother cannot afford to run our house with minimum wage jobs. She's currently staying at a nursing home and we are seeing her as much as we can to share the moments we have left with her and let her feel at peace. However miracle's do happen, and Hope is are running high for my mother. I keep my thoughts and prayers with her and thank you too everyone who does as well. Thank you.

Bad news, my mother is in the hospital again they don't quite know what's wrong yet. She was dazed and confused before a scheduled doctors appointment, and now she's having trouble seeing out of her right eye, we should find out tomorrow she may have to go through another surgery. However the good news is that our spirits are high and we have raised over $800 with the generous hearts of people like you who give to my mom's donation. Again thank you everyone so much we are that much closer to our goal.

Hi, my name is Adam Burns. Ever since about 2009 my family has never been the same. When my parents separated it was a big change for me. I was the kid in school who wasn't living with both parents, who didn't get the nice shoes, who never got to go on vacations, who had to worry about bills, worry about getting evicted, who had to hear all the time about why something wasn't paid for was because of unpaid child support checks 3 kids and a minimum wage job.
Shortly after my brothers and mom moved out of our house because we couldn't afford it anymore, my mom got breast cancer. Sure there were nice people to lend a helping hand to give us food sometimes or some money. But when I saw my mom with a shaved head getting home from work and stressing about chemotherapy, I knew she this was a big toll on her as a single mother.
Once my mother was cured for cancer it was a blessing, but after that our landlord said she had to pay a bigger price for rent and then we moved a second time. We moved into another house not to far away still in my hometown of ortonville. But bills were still a problem, in 2014 we received an eviction notice with nowhere to go. So we thought up our last option was to pack up all our things and go to grandmas house. My grandmother had a chronic condition with her lungs and she's been on oxygen therapy since 2007, she's was weak but just trying to get stronger everyday taking every advice given by her doctors and she was the sweetest grandma i could ever ask for. My grandparents let us in and we were living off them basically. On day my grandmother fell and broke a bone in her spine and she's been in a back brace the rest of her life. She was getting weaker and weaker by the day despite all of her efforts. On day in August she sat down with me and said that we're feeding off of this bucket but one day that bucket will run out. I never knew what that meant not until it happened on November 14, 2016, on that day it had run dry, my grandmother past away in her sleep from natural causes at the age of 73. My grandfather was the most devastated of all of us. The love of his life taken by the hands of god, all he could ask was simply.. why? Her mother still lives today in las vegas at the age of 97.
Just 3 days after the funeral I found my grandfather at 8 o'clock at night my mom didn't want to check on him because of the terrifying sight of my grandmother past away. I was sent to check on him. He was laying in his bed all day without eating anything, taking any of his medication, and dehydrated. Just asking for his wife back. We called 911 and he was sent to the hospital. He's been. Moving back and forth from the hospital to the nursing home ever since. It's been over a year and he's still not home.
In September, I asked my mom to sing my syllabus for the school semester, she couldn't even comprehend what was going on. I thought something was funny about it so I asked my brother what we should do. My mom told me she was fine but I knew she wasn't. My brother asked her what was wrong and she said she thinks she has cancer. We rushed her to the hospital that night. The night before game day we were there until 5 in the morning I had one hour of sleep and all I could think about that day was my mom and hoping she was okay. I texted my brother about what the news was and he said you're gonna have to wait till you get home for this you need to focus on the varsity football game. I could only assume the worst and when I got home I rushed right to my brothers room and he's said it was brain cancer.. I didn't know if i could handle this again. But i did, she's gone through 5 surgerys and is scheduled for on in January. She's been in and out of the hospital for 3 months.
My grandfather's stay at the nursing home has been too long and insurance won't cover it, his bank account is completely empty and my grandmother is past away. Me and my brothers all have jobs and minimum wage plus the far and few between child support cannot pay these bills. There are days where I don't know where my next meal is coming from there are also days where I have to ask a friend for gas money just to see my mom. My car is in bad condition and its hard to keep putting money into it as well as bills at the house that me and my brothers pay.
My goal is to raise $3000 in this foundation and we need you to help my family. All donations are expected big and small anything helps.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
