In the early morning hours of Sunday, Feb. 4th, 2018, TWO Rideshare drivers lost their lives due to drunk drivers in Indianapolis, IN. These two men were doing what every Rideshare driver does everyday and every night, getting people around town safely and keeping people from getting behind the wheel of a vehicle while impaired. Both of these men were in service at the time of their accidents, which happened the same night just an hour apart on opposite sides of town. Jeffrey's passenger, Colts Linebacker Edwin Jackson, was also killed in their accident. Blair's passenger survived but was critically injured.
The goal of this fund is to raise money to help the families of these two drivers, which will be split equally among the two. Our goal is $20,000 ($10k to each)!
Jeffrey: He was a good man who loved his wife, Deb. They traveled a lot around the world together. Jeffrey became a driver to save up so he could take his wife to the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Blair: He just recently (early 2017) moved from his native Maryland, where we was a driver, to Indianapolis and drove here too. His Father and Step-Mother live here. He just accepted a position with FedEx.
We, as Rideshare drivers, know their are many of our riders who use us daily and regularly to get to work, school, events, a night out, ect. And we know our riders would like to help too. We've opened this page to make it easier for our clientele and others as well to donate.
My name is Don Hauser and I am a proud Rideshare driver. I knew Jeff. We worked together many times out of Indianapolis International Airport. Though I did not personally ever met Blair, his Step-Mother has been a family friend for over 40 years. He was a bright young man with a bright future ahead.
Jeffrey was 54. Blair was 29. Gone too soon but will never be forgotten!
Again, all proceeds will be split equally between the two families. If at the families request, part of or all of their proceeds may be donated to their charity of choosing in memory of our lost driver.
