The Best for Kath

People will forget what you said and did but they will never forget how you made them feel. Cliché as the quote may sound; these words from Maya Angelou remain immortalized as we put value on someone who touched our lives in many ways than one. This is Ma’am Kathleen.

            Ma’am Kathleen is not only a teacher but also a friend and mother to her students and colleagues. Her love and passion in her vocation created a deep and profound impact in our lives. This also influenced the many teachers under her care, as she is a faculty member of one of the prestigious universities in the Philippines.  Her dedication for teaching, in fact, has brought her to teach in many places and this time, we would like to reach places so we could help her. We are generations of young teachers eager to pay it forward through this campaign.

            A month ago, she had a mastectomy as she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. She was advised to undergo chemotherapy for the next few months, the first session of which shall start in a few weeks. Her resources were depleted from the mastectomy alone.

            Given the costs of the chemotherapy sessions, we are one with Ma’am Kathleen as we aim to financially aid her in her medical expenses. Thus, we appeal for help in this goal of ensuring that she will have many more years of impact in teaching.
