Theresa and Frank
I was there when Theresa and Frank met in 2007 and from that day on they have been inseparable!  They found the key, the answer to that age old question what makes two people stand the test of time?  The answer is they put each other first with no reservations or conditions of who is giving more or less.  They both gave everything of each other to one another!

Theresa had kidney issues all of her life but in 2010 it reached a critical point.  Theresa had to have emergency surgery which left her with permanent nerve damage.  After several years of multiple surgeries it has left her with a pain medicine pump placed inside of her body.  This has unfortunately, forced her to stop working and depend upon full disability.  This was a huge blow to a person that loved to work , exercise, travel, and most of all support her son, Christopher and husband, Frank.  All in one day that changed and she had to rely on them to help her.  Being the very independant person Theresa is that was a devastation to her as a mother, wife, and friend!

Frank of course stepped up to plate (he loves playing softball)! and was working three jobs to pay the bills and make ends meet.  They currently rent a very modest place in Staten Island and count every penny, in fact Frank is one of the most frugal guys I have ever met!  He never wastes anything!

During this time Frank asked Theresa to marry him, when I saw this I said to myself this is true love!  They were married by the Justice of The Peace in Staten Island in 2012.  Just the two of them, they had the ceremony went to dinner and Theresa had to get home because of the pain she was in.

Over the next few years Theresa had multiple medical issues relating to her permanent nerve damage.  Her and her doctors had come up with trials that could relieve her pain.  Theresa just asked for her pain on a scale of 1 to 10  if they could even get it to a 6 she said maybe then she could at least get some sleep.  I remember calling to check on her and she would sound terrible, in excrutiating pain and could not talk for days.  I would just wait until she was able to call me to just talk to her.  The possible ways for her doctors to relieve her pain were not covered by insurance and they have spent everything they had over the past few years.

Recently, Theresa has been experiencing such severe pain she can barely take it.  After going to her doctor they told her there is an issue with the pump and it has to be removed.  There is a chance it can burst inside of her and if that happens it would be deadly.  This news was horrific to Theresa, the pump has made her nerve pain somewhat bareable.  Before the pump she was on such strong oral medications she had no quality of life, always sleeping and still in pain not to mention the toll all of these medications are doing to her organs.

Unfortunately, Frank recently went to the doctors and had his long string of tests and the results were devastating!  Frank has to have open heart surgery this month at the end of February!   They both sat with the team of doctors that will be involved in his surgery and he will be out of work for three months!  When Theresa called me to tell me this I was speachless!  She desperately needs her surgery but has to postpone it until Frank has his and can heal.  In the meantime Theresa'a docotor is telling her she must have her surgery as soon as possible or she could not be here for Frank.

Just when I thought things could not get worse Theresa called a the next day and said they received an eviction notice from their landlord stating they have to be out within 30 days!  Frank called their landlord and they are not being compasionate at all.  Neither one of them are physically able to pack and move.  They are also not going to be able to make it to court to plead with the judge for an extension.  Theresa's son works around the clock and helps in everyway  he can, always there for his mother.  I am going to be there for her every moment I can, I live 2 hours away but I will stay with her for Franks surgery  and a few days after.  I live alone and have a job that requires frequent travel.
I will be driving up on weekends to cook for them and meet some of Franks friends to help pack and get heavy things ready to go when they are able.  Family and friends are so important in times like these and need to support each other in everyway.

How You Can Help
What the money is needed for is for Theresa treatments and home healthcare for Frank when he gets home after a week in the hospital.  Their insurance does not cover this type of healthcare.   With Frank;s income going from one fulltime job, that will not even be able to get the m from disablity and two other partime jobs to zero has devistated them!  They need help as soon as possible with Frank starting his battery of tests before his surgery at the end of this month.

Thank You
I always tell Theresa to keep her faith strong pray!  Any amount you can donate would be so very much appreciated you have no idea.  Just to give them some relief to at least have some peace of mind would be a huge blessing to this awesome couple!  The money would go to co-pays, prescriptions, hopefully, in home nursing care, rent, and utilities.

I thank you in advance for taking the time to read this!!
