The Anderberg's Road to Recovery

$6,201 of $15,000 goal

On January 28th, 2018, Jayme was carrying Olivia and two gallons of milk into his apartment. It was raining and Jayme began to slip. Knowing he was about to fall, he leaned forward to keep Olivia safe. Although she is absolutely fine, he slammed down onto the wooden walkway with both knees, tearing both of his kneecaps from the lower tendons which hold them in place. Jayme will be undergoing surgery to reattach the tendons on January 29th.  It is said the recovery is 6 weeks which includes physical therapy and him being in a wheel chair for the full recovery. I am asking for any possible donations to help the family with the medical expenses that they are incurring along with the daily financial needs while Jayme is out of work. As you know, Liz spends her days at home with her beautiful four kids; making sure they are taken care of and schooled. Any little bit will help this family on their road to recovery.

Hey all! Jayme was admitted to Glancy Rehabilitation Center today and is officially beginning the excruciating road to recovery. He’ll do at least three hours of physical therapy and two hours of occupational therapy per day. The kids won’t be seeing him much during this time because he has to focus on getting well. We’re praying he can reach the milestones necessary before two weeks but that’s the timeframe his doctor has given us. When he reaches the milestones necessary, he’ll be discharged and begin outpatient therapy from home.

If you’d like to send him anything in the mail, this is his address:

Glancy Rehabilitation Center

Jayme’s surgery went well. Both tendons were completely torn off. The surgeon commented about the rarity of this occurring in a normal, healthy man. He’s never seen it in someone as young or healthy as Jayme. This was a freak accident, for sure.

Jayme will be in the hospital until Thursday and, at that point, they will transfer him to an in-patient rehab facility for at least TEN days. He’s hurting and this is going to be an extremely difficult (and painful) road for him with BOTH legs having been operated on. The immediate and impending financial stresses continue to build but your generosity has Liz and Jayme feeling thankful, supported, and completely undeserving.
Before surgery on Monday afternoon.
