Please help Operation Democracy honor our WWII veterans and active duty soldiers at the WWII commemoration ceremonies in Normandy, France this year during D-Day, as well as, support our educational programs for our future generation- the students.

Operation Democracy has its origins as a post-WWII movement that galvanized hundreds of American towns to provide humanitarian aid/supplies to ‘sister’ cities in Europe to aid in their restoration.
This spirit of good will is alive in today’s Operation Democracy which has enhanced its mission to include youth education and cultural exchange.

D-Day Normandy France
To honor the sacrifices of our WWII veterans and active duty soldiers, Operation Democracy is raising funds to help underwrite the cost of dinner tickets ($35 each) for 200 active duty soldiers (including 80 soldiers from the 82nd Airborne) so that they may attend the commemoration Banquet in Sainte Mere Eglise, Normandy, France during the D-Day ceremonies on June 2, 2018. This Banquet is a once-in-a-life opportunity for active duty soldiers to meet WWII Veterans and learn their stories, perspectives and history. (The soldiers selected for this honor are handpicked by their superiors in a merit-based selection process.) For over 12 years, Operation Democracy has helped to provide support for the Veterans and active duty soldiers during these week-long D-Day ceremonies. Your $35 donation will thank an active duty soldier in a profound, impactful way.

Flags for Freedom
In addition, as part of our Flags for Freedom program, Operation Democracy is raising funds to cover the cost of over 189 American Flags for presentation to the graduating high school seniors at Locust Valley High School in New York. ($25 each) Each student will be presented an American Flag by a Veteran and learn more about its meaning from the Veteran. As they journey through life, we hope this flag is a personal touchstone for them, reminding them of our country’s values and freedoms.

Painting for Peace
Finally, in furtherance of our Painting for Peace initiative, we will fund the cost of transporting and displaying the freedom-inspired artwork of American and French youth for educational programs in both countries. This is the 5th year anniversary of the International Art Expo and, with your help, it will continue to be a meaningful cultural exchange for the students.

Operation Democracy has created these programs, among others, to advance the causes of Freedom, Democracy and Peace in the world through good will and education. Please note that Operation Democracy is a 501C3 organization and all donations are tax-deductible.
