Help Megan Fight Breast Cancer

Donation protected
Hey Friends and Family:

My sister, Megan Janelle Sledge, is a single, 29 year old, who currently resides near West Palm Beach, FL, and is an athletic trainer for a phsyical therapy/doctor's office.

Megan's new year has started off unexpected to say the least. Mid January, Megan was diagnosed with Stage 3, Triple negative Right Breast Cancer, with right axillary lymph nodes also affected. A PET scan was performed this past Monday, and results showed no other affected areas in her body, praise the Lord, but the tumor in her breast has grown, and significantly fast. My parents and I met with a team of doctors at the Breast Institute at JFK Medical Center this past Tuesday to discuss her course of treatment. The doctors seem wonderful and are wanting to be very aggressive in treatment to give Megan the best possible outcome- become cancer free. On 1/29/16, Megan will have her first procedure done- Dr.  Beth-Ann Lesnikoski will be placing a port in her left chest for chemo treatments to go through (basically venous access). Then on Tuesday (2/2/16), she will go for an MRI and her first dose of Chemo.  Plan is 20 weeks of Chemo, then looking at surgery and then ending with 6 weeks of radiation and more surgery.

Megan is strong and is a fighter, not one to give up! We are all depending on God's strength, grace, and promises. He is faithful, and we are trusing Him to be with Megan every step of this difficult journey. Even though she doesn't live locally, she is not alone because she has God, and many loving, caring friends and family. As Megan (and us) begin this journey, I am reminded of the words in the song, "It Is Well" by Bethel Music: "Far be it from me to not believe. Even when my eyes can't see. And this mountain that's in front of me
will be thrown into the midst of the sea. So let go my soul and trust in Him. The waves and wind still know His name. It is well with my soul".

Ways you can help:
1) PRAY!!! Pray specifically for Megan's strength (body and mind), peace, sleep, strong immune system, complete healing. Pray specifically for the three main doctors working closely with Megan for treatment: Dr. Beth Ann Lesnikoski (surgeon), Dr. Talya Schwarzberg (chemo oncologist) and the radiologist and plastic surgeon. Pray for their wisdom and guidance as they walk Megan through each step of treatment.
2) Call, Text or Send positive thoughts, Scriptures, notes/words of encouragement.
3) For those that live close by to her,  provide healthy meals or offer to house clean, grocery shop (She has to walk three flights of stairs to her apartment).
4) Support her financially- She has already spent about $3,000 on meds and tests, and this is just the very beginning (not including chemo, two surgeries and radiation). Megan is single, works full-time, and still needs to be able to pay rent and bills on top of all these upcoming medical bills.
We cannot thank our friends and family enough for supporting us through this "storm". Thankful for all God is going to do in and through Megan in 2016 and the rest of her life. Thank you for being on the journey with us and supporting her through prayer and finances.

Turning our focus from the plan to the PLANNER (Megan's Creator, Reedemer, Healer, Refuge, Sustainer, Strength)! "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11.
