Texas or Bustier: Tammy Does Dallas

July 26th I will be traveling to Dallas, TX to represent New Orleans at the Texas Queerlesque Festival.  ...and I need a little help getting there.

In April 2018 I represented the Crescent City at the Texas Burlesque Festival in Austin and with your support I was able to create the "Inherently Valid Fund" - to support differently gender and differently able folks in the performing arts.  

I took 1st runner up for Audience Choice in Austin and I was able to make a contribution on behalf of Erica Nix and Transform Fitness thru the Inherently Valid Fund to the Transgender Education Network of Texas in addition to sponsoring one full tuition scholarship for Bella Blue's "Like a Virgin" Beginner Burlesque Workshop.  And I won the hearts of some pretty skeptical Texans with appearances by Tammy!

Once again - I am the ONLY entertainer from New Orleans at this festival and as I take to the highways representing the Best City in the World - I want to take this opportunity to do something for the underrepresented members of our communities who need help to survive and thrive.

Each time I travel and ask for help I want to contribute to my community both locally and abroad.  Did you know that the average life expectancy of a Black Transgender Woman in the US is 31 years old?  Or that Transgender Teens are 80% more likely to attempt suicide?

I want to send funds to our beloved local organization BreakOUT! - fighting to end the criminalization of LGBTQ youth and keep transgender women alive here in New Orleans.

and I'd like to make a donation to Genecis (GENder Education and Care, Interdisciplinary Support) - a clinic for Transgender Children at the Dallas Children's Medical Center.  They help Transgender Youth become emotionally stable adults and work with parents to help them understand and care for their children.
