The goal of this initiative is education, first, and ultimately, through the use of the knowledge gained therein, to affect change from a scientific fact-based platform with regard to future public policy regarding Cannabis and its use and/or abuse, or misuse.

First and foremost, thank you for your interest, and thank you for your donation; should you chose to give and join the campaign.

Today, more than ever, the laws and the social norms surrounding Cannabis, or Hemp, or (insert boo here) marijuana are changing.

Many states have legalized the recreational or medical use of Cannabis.  Texas has The Compassionate Care/Use Acts .  The US Congress released its policy (sort of) governing Cannabis (hemp) with very low psychoactive properties.

There is so much changing, and so much information out there, that there needs to be a way to get scientific facts about Cannabis to the voters in Texas.

Texas will soon face changes, replacements, or overhauls of its current Cannabis policy.  With the help of all Texans interested, and soon to be impacted by the changing Cannabis law, we can play a part in knowledge based progression through the upcoming policy changes.

Be part of Texas history, and part of Texas's green revolution.

Is it true that Cannabis, or Hemp, is over 20x more efficient at producing paper, pulp, and fiber than trees?

Why and how does Hemp improve the soil and why do most farmers in Texas want to grow it?

There are myriads of treatments for conditions available on the market today that incorporate some part of the Cannabis plant.  From low dose tinctures and salves for topical application, the more familiar flower, to potent concentrates for ingestion or inhalation.

Did you know that you have 2 Cannabinoid receptor systems inside of your own system (body)?  So do many other organisms on earth.

Can Cannabis help with pain, inflammation, sleep regulation or interruption, learning, etc.?

What plant part is best for what condition or ailment?

Can Cannabis replace opioids?  Increase their efficacy?  Decrease dependency?

What concentration of Cannabinoids is best for certain situations?

Is Cannabis a good treatment for Epilepsy?  Arthritis?  Glaucoma?  Cancer?  ADHD?

See what Harvard  Medical School  thinks:
https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/medical-marijuana-2018011513085

Does Cannabis cause a decrease in one's ability to operate machinery?  For how long after consumption?  Is dosage important?  Are there metabolic differences across the population that change the way Cannabis is processed from one person to the next?

What should today's, and tomorrow's laws look like?  What should be the punishment for violation?  Are we gonna release those behind bars who would never have been there under the new laws?  Presuming they would be less restrictive of course.

The truth is there is more scientific research being done on dogs with Cannabis than there is on humans.  If it helps dogs, it MAY help humans in a similar way.  More on why I emphasize MAY to come.

Knowledge is POWER and the truth shall set you FREE!

What can you afford - not to lose?

How will the funds be used?

Glad you asked - you should.

The goals up to $500,000 are based upon a 5 year plan, however, time is of the essence and escalation of this timeline is preferred.  Pending funding, of course, I think they could all be accomplished within 2 years.

All funds donated will be used in some way toward the goals listed below.  The higher the amount ultimately given, the greater the impact toward educating Texans.

First, how they will not be used.  The funds will not be used to grow Cannabis, to handle Cannabis in any form whole or part, or to invest in the like.  The sole purpose of this campaign is education with the goal of intelligent progression through future Cannabis law and policy.

Through this campaign, its organizer and future personnel, contractors, employees, and the like, will, at times receive compensation for their time, expertise, use of materials and equipment, etc.  We cannot limit what they will do with the funds received as compensation, and do not intend to do so; with the reservation to restrict funds for scholarships given in the future as needed.

I will break down goals into sections and actions that I plan to take based upon those levels.

I hate disclaimers - but here goes - I am a plant scientist, a horticulturist, and a plant breeder.  I have colleagues and contacts in nutrition and plant chemical research who will play vital roles in the future.  I am not an estimator of costs to accomplish all of these goals - so modifications will be made promptly and as needed and notifications sent out accordingly.   I have experience in many aspects of these goals so the figures are not completely guesses, but not perfect by any stretch of the imagination.

Tier 0 - $0 - $4,999

Initiate a social media campaign with fact based information about Cannabis to be made available to Texans.

Tier 1  - $5,000 - $9,999

Build a professional website to house the Texas Hemp Education and Research Initiative and maintain the website for at least 5 years.

Continue above goal.

Tier 2 - $10,000 - $24,999

Hire a part-time contractor for installation of scientific research related to Cannabis on the website for access by all Texans, media about current events and legislation related to Cannabis, and medical research cases related to Cannabis and treatment of ailments aided by Cannabis.

Continue above goals.

Tier 3 - $25,000 - $74,999

Begin researching the best way to spread the word, and implement a preferred solution by the $75,000 mark.  This could be podcasts, roadshow and town hall type campaign, or direct mail marketing.  Experts in marketing and media will be consulted and decisions will be based on fact based research.

Continue above goals.

Tier 4 - $75,000 - $174,999

Establish a  Volunteer Board of Directors and draft a set of guidelines for continuing the campaign above, or making modifications as needed.  Begin to consider the methodology that will facilitate the establishment of an advisory council with the intent on engaging the Texas  Legislators for advising with respect to Cannabis and what we've learned to that point.

Continue above goals.

Tier 5 - $175,000 - $349,999

Form an advisory council as described above and invest in the information and knowledge necessary to equip the experts on the advisory council for their job to effect change toward scientific based policy changes in Texas related to Cannabis.

Continue above goals.

Tier 6 - $350,000 - $500,000

Fund an endowment to perpetuate the availability of all the knowledge and facts gained throughout this initiative, and to keep the Advisory Council and Board of Directors expenses covered into the future - ideally indefinitely.

Continue above goals.

Tier 7 - Above $500,000

Fund research for medical use of Cannabis through approved government or university based means.

Fund scholarships for scientists who wish to research Cannabis as part of their Thesis or Dissertation work.

Continue all above goals.
