We are gathering funds to create 120+  "TOILETRY + SNACK PACKS" for Texas border community shelters. All items in our packs are listed on the "wish lists" for agency shelters. We are working closely with the shelters to ensure donated goods are useful and needed. With your DONATIONS, we hope to deliver packs next week!

We heard your cry......"What Can I Do?"

Our team is located in Kerrville, Texas (which is the Texas Hill Country and about 5 hours from the border) and we are working to raise funds for these 120+ packs which we will deliver to the Harlingen shelters next week. We hope to secure the funding needed by the weekend, place our orders, and my church has graciously offered a place to construct the packs as we prepare for the road trip.

While there are many ways to be helpful in the evolving story on the border, we feel this tangible and practical support to ongoing respite centers by LOCAL agencies is a big step in the right direction.

Items contained in the 120+  individual "TOILETRY + SNACK PACK" will be as follows....

*Individual (travel-size) Deodorant
*Individual (travel-size) Shampoo
*Razor
*Individual (travel-size) Body Wash
*Toothbrush
*Toothpaste
*Pair of Socks
*Advil Packet (2 capsules)
*Hair Comb
*Maxi Pads
*CapriSun  Portable Beverage
*Sealed Snack Crackers

The total cost for items and shipping in the 120 packs will be (estimated on Amazon) $1500-$1800. We have padded a little extra in the event items become more costly when ordering or shipping prices of goods from Amazon to us becomes more costly. We WILL NOT spend any monies on items other than what is listed above. ALL extra monies will be used to purchase additional supplies to be donated and cover additional shipping costs.

"TOILETRY + SNACK PACKS" will be constructed by a group of dedicated volunteers between the dates of Sunday, June 24th and Wednesday, June 27th. We will deliver (first-round:) of packs to the TWO shelters in Harlingen on Thursday, June 28th.

FAQ's about this project......

1) Who am I and why am I doing this?

My name is Kimber Falkinburg and I'm a Texas resident, member of the Kerrville United Methodist Church, and feel THIS is best way I can be the "Hands + Feet of Christ" to be helpful in the border situation.

2) What happens if we raise more than $2000?

Our volunteer team is donating their time and money to construct the packs and to drive them to Harlingen, Texas. ALL monies raised beyond the $2000 asked will be used to create and deliver additional "TOILETRY + SNACK PACKS" for the Texas border shelters and supporting agencies.

3) Can you volunteer with us?

YES YES YES! We are working on details for pack construction dates and location specifics. Of course, the amount of money donated and number of packs we are able to purchase/construct will determine the logistical efforts needed.
