Terrence is seriously ill in intensive care at "The Ralph" in Buckinghamshire. He became ill on Friday the 8th two days after we took out insurance for him. The insurance doesn't cover any illness he gets for the first 14 days and any future treatment for this condition is not covered.
We took him to the vets on Friday and they thought he had joint problems and pains. They gave him some painkillers and he came home. The next day Terrence was very lethargic, not moving and wouldn't eat. We gave him some painkillers the vet had given us and he eventually ate some chicken. Sunday he was even worse and wouldn't eat at all. He began drinking lots and we hoped this was a good sign. It wasn't, we took him back to the vets on Monday and they took some blood tests and they weren't good and he was taken to "The Ralph" specialist hospital in Buckinghamshire. He is in intensive care now and is on a drip and feeding tube. He has pancreatitis and could have died. They are now trying to find out what caused the pancreatitis as it is usually a secondary symptom.
The costs have been around £1500 a day he may have to stay there for a week before he can come home. We also have to test for what the underlying cause may be.
As all of you know Terrence is a really special little dog, full of love and he has brightened everyone's life he has come into contact with. When I hold him in the hospital and he's so little and helpless it breaks my heart. I love him so much and he can get well.
We would appreciate any help towards these costs I have some money set aside but with the days mounting up and my contract ending this month means I am worried financially. I burst into tears when someone suggested this and we would be so grateful for any assistance with Terrence's hospital bills.
