I would like to thank everyone who has kindly donated to this fundraiser I have set up. Your donation has been gratefully received and is already helping Terese's family breathe a little easier. We said goodbye to Terese on Saturday 2/12/2017 at a beautiful service celebrating her short life, which she would have loved.

I will be keeping this account open for any further donations until Sunday evening. From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much for your kindness.

ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
I am setting up this gofundme account in hope of raising enough funds to help take the financial burden off my beautiful friend's family, while they take time out to mourn her loss. This amazing woman spent over 3.5 years fighting cancer with everything she had until her very last breath.

The funds will go towards all the various bills and household expenses that have been neglected  while her family have been on this long and painful journey with her.  Her husband Dion has been by her side at every step. He is self employed, so if he doesn't work, he doesn't get paid. You can imagine how the past 3.5 years has disrupted his business and their lives.

Any funds raised will help tide them over until they can get back on their feet again. Her funeral is next Saturday (2nd December) so we are hoping to raise as much as possible within the next couple of weeks. Every cent will help. Thanking you in advance for your generosity!

Below is a snapshot of Terese's journey:
Terese was a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister and a blood donor advocate. She was beautiful, strong, confident and selfless.

In early 2014 her husband encouraged her to donate blood. It was this selfless act that saved her life the first time.

17th March 2014 she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukeamia . She discovered this after the Red Cross Blood Service discovered abnormalities in her blood from the initial screening. She was 36.

She became an active ambassador for the Australian Red Cross Blood Service promoting the importance of blood donations. She worked with media to promote the importance of blood donations and spoke at schools and businesses, sharing her story. This work resulted in a number of new donors to sign up. Her story and advocacy work was even featured on the news. CLICK HERE  to watch the news story.

She endured the long course of chemotherapy treatments and all of its nasty side effects, without complaint. She kicked cancer's butt and life started to finally look rosie again.

06th April 2016, she relapsed. The cancer was back. It was aggressive. The next course of action was a Bone Marrow Transplant  to save her life.  Her brother's cells were almost a perfect match.

1st July 2016 she received the stem cell transplant. Her body seemed happy with the new cells and once again, the future looked a little brighter.

September 2017 she discovered she had GvHD ,  which had affected her lungs and she was not able to breathe at full capacity.  This quickly went from a home rest and medication treatment, to an emergency admission to the Intensive care unit last week.

22nd November 2017, she was placed in an induced coma.

23rd November 2017 her beautiful soul left us. She was no longer in pain. She was 40.
