Teddy Rescue Dog Needs TPLO Surgery

Meet Teddy. He is a 2 yo Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix weighing about 116 pounds. Teddy was adopted by my aunt, Nancy LeBlanc, from Good Dog Rescue in Tennessee, and was transported to Vermont by PETS, after she lost her previous dog to old age.

Recently, Teddy has been having serious issues with his hind end.  After  consultations with a surgical specialist, and $700 in X-rays, Teddy needs TPLO knee surgery ASAP on one knee. We are told his other leg will likely go within a year or two,  so she’s looking at over $6,000 in vet bills. But, right now we’re just looking to get through the first surgery.

My uncle is retired in his 80s, and my aunt works at a school in Barre, VT. Needless to say, they don’t have that kind of money laying around, so they are struggling with whether or not they will need to put Teddy down.

I have attached a copy of the surgical estimate, which also includes the name of the veterinarian and the vet hospital.
