My name is Micheal Chutani and I am the  Captain for Team Southwood Class of 89!  My wife and I are supporting classmate Tiffany Smith-Woodson and her family in their quest to raise awareness for brain tumors/cancers.  The Mary E. Smith Foundation, Inc.  is a 501c3 non profit charity that was formed in memory of their mom whom lost her battle with a brain tumor.   Annually the organization host a 5K Fun Run/Walk in conjunction with the City of Country Club Hills to raise money for college scholarships.  It is their hope that one of these students will become an oncologist or neurologist and help find a cure for this condition.

The charity is proud to have supported other Southwood graduates.  Since its incorporation in 2008, MESF has given away over $73,000 in scholarships to aid those students pursing a degree in the areas of Oncology or Neurology.  They also donated a $10,000 grant to advance research at Northwestern Brain Tumor Institute (NBTI). Additionally, support is provided annually to brain tumor patients and their families through financial assistance and medical screening grants. 

MESF collaborates with and provides monetary assistance to advocacy organizations to support the passing of laws in favor of brain tumor patients. This year 10% of proceeds will benefit the National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS).  Help Team Southwood '89 to meet our goal and support Southwood Alumnae of the past, current and future.  We are committed to winning the fight against brain tumors.
