Build a classroom in The Gambia
Donation protected
The Gambia, located in central Africa, has only a 55.5% literacy rate according to UNESCO. Indeed, education is not mandatory, making life harder for the nation's children as they grow up in a technological world. Therefore, building an extra classroom in the Jemus Jungkung Jammeh Memorial Nursery School in Abuko will allow more children a chance at education rather than continuing the cycle of low-paid families in the area. Any donation will help and the children are always grateful when we visit them annually to be sure the money is being put to good use.
Your money will:
- Supply the building materials and labour to build a new second story classroom for children aged 4-7
- Buy basic supplies such as pens and paper which we will fly out with us
- Go towards a teacher's yearly salary of £360
We fly out in November, but a knowledge of the budget we have will allow us to spend it the best.
Thank you from me and the children of Jemus Jungkung Jammeh Memorial Nursery School :)
