This is Cody's Story...
On May 7, 2011 Cody and his mom Carrie were on their way to a fundraiser. Cody, who was 4 at the time, was so excited because he had his own money that he collected to turn in.They had no idea their lives were about to change forever, especially for Cody, just one month shy of his 5th birthday.

Several miles after leaving their house, they came upon  a curve.  Their vehicle slipped off an unforgiving berm and made impact with two poles. Although Cody was in a 5 point harness car seat,  which protected his body from the neck down, it did not protect his head from the impact of the two poles.

Cody suffered a severe brain injury and multiple fractures on the right side of his face and skull. Cody was transported by life flight to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Cody endured a five hour surgery that day to remove a large piece of his skull to make room for his swelling brain and for reconstruction of his badly damaged face. The neurosurgeon said the surgery went as well but that Cody was not out of the woods yet, time would tell if  he would pull through. That doctor didn’t know how strong  Cody was or the plans of God.

After 5 months at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Cody was able to go home with his family and begin the next chapter of their forever changed lives.

Cody has daily seizures which have caused regression and an overall decline in his health. He has battled pneumonia six times since November 2014 - present. His current hospitalization included 3 intubation/extubations and surgery to insert a tracheotomy. This will bring many more changes and struggles to their daily life.

It has been a long journey for the Stewart family. The Family needs help more than ever right now. Cody is 8 years old. Cody, Scott (his dad), Carrie (his mom), Bria (sister) and Kinzie (whom is 19 months) all live together with some cute pups. Cody's "bedroom" with ALL of his medical supplies are in the family tv room.  Cody's therapy, nursing care, EVERYTHING  is all done right in the family tv room. Cody's mom sleeps on the couch every single night so she can be with Cody, which she has done for the past 4 years.

We're asking for your help because it has been a dream of the family's to turn their garage into a bedroom/therapy room for Cody.   When Cody comes home from this current hospitalization, he will have more medical equiment that will need to be by his bed at all times, which is in the family tv room. He will also require more nursing care.

We would like for Cody to have his own privacy, his own room with space for medical supplies and equiment. Cody can have therapy in his room without being right in the middle of the tv room, Nursing care can be provided in privacy and his mom can actually have a bed in his room, without sleeping on the couch every night. She needs sleep and its not comfortable sleeping on a couch every night..

Lets come together as a community and help this wonder family by either making a donation (no amount is too small) or by sharing this link to spread the word. Lets help this family in a time of need.

For anyone interested there is also a benefit account at the Savings Bank, Circleville, Ohio under his mom's name,  Carrie Stewart 2/25/74.
