To steal from Stacy Bailey on Maya's facebook page: "Maya Grace was born on 5/26/16. She had some concerns shortly after birth and was sent to Akron Children's Hospital. After an ultrasound of her heart she was diagnosed with Shone's Complex. Shone's has about 4 different heart defects that are related to the left side of her heart. Right now she is on a medication to keep her heart and body circulated until her lungs can adjust to the world. Our doctors current hope is that we can wait until she is 7-10 days old before she has surgery."

Over the next several days/weeks/months the Petrusek family will be going through many challenges that most of us could not even imagine. Those challenges include:
- Heart surgery/procedures for baby Maya
- Lengthy hospital stays
- Hotel(s), food, daily needs, laundry, etc.
- Extended time away from work
- House sitting, dog sitting, upkeep, etc.

I'm sure there are many more unanticipated costs and challenges associated with Maya's care. This page was created to help take some of the burden off of Megan and Shawn so that they can focus all of their efforts and thoughts on fighting for Maya.
