Solar Array for MAHS/Robotics Team
Donation protected
The high school FIRST robotics team offers kids an amazing real-world opportunity to solve difficult problems working with adult mentors. Participants learn that working in a STEM field can be challenging and fun, but, most importantly, that it is something they can do. The ongoing funding this system will provide will help make the robotics program more sustainable. But that is just the beginning! This is unique because the driving force behind this project will be high school students, it will be eye-catching because the panels will be mounted at the front of the school on the auditorium roof, and it will be informative because students, working with the Morris Model team, will hold public meetings to explain the project, solar energy in general, and report results. This is relevant because it follows the same model Saerbeck used to start their renewable energy revolution and they now produce more than three times as much energy as they use.
