Team Zenobi Strong

As you may have learned, our dear friend, Ed Zenobi, was in a life-altering accident at work on January 13th that left him paralyzed from the chest down.  He was rushed to Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville, PA where emergency surgery was performed to fuse his neck and spine back together.  Once Ed recovers from such a traumatic surgery, he will be transferred to UPMC Rehabilitation Institute located at UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh to begin the most difficult, physical and emotional journey of his 47 years of life.

If Ed was reading this now, he would probably say one of two things . . . or both:  1) "I don't want any handouts!" (although he would certainly be first to open his wallet to help a friend); and 2) something snarky and sarcastic, such as: "being married to Colleen has been the most difficult journey of my life . . . how hard can this rehab thing be?" (as he looks at her with love in his eyes and a smirk on his face).  Ed's wife, Colleen, (who we all know holds this beautiful family together like super glue) loves Ed like crazy and has been by his side every minute since the accident!  She never ceases to amaze . . . while hiding the excrutiating pain of this reality behind her eyes and through her tears, Colleen says 110% positive about the future.  She does it for Ed, for their kids, Matt and Megan, and for herself, with the most incredible determination I've ever seen in a person.  Colleen gives Ed no choice but to be as thankful as she is that he is alive and provides him with the strength he needs to fight for the immense love and beautiful life they share.

The Zenobi family is made of wonderful, selfless, caring people who are always willing help anyone at a moment's notice.  I don't even think they realize how many people love them and want to support them.  It's such a helpless feeling to watch our special friends go through such an unimaginable time in their lives.

Everyone who knows Ed and Colleen are asking how they can help . . .  well, here's how.

First, we pray!  Even if you don't go to church or pray regularly, just find a minute each day and PRAY for a miracle . . . and at the very least, for the strength they need to get through each day.  And if you do pray regularly, please rally your fellow-praying friends and pray some more!!!

Second, continue to send your love, concern and best wishes!  All of the thoughtful messages, calls, texts and visits have meant the world to the Zenobi family.  So please don't stop because they are going to need our support for the long haul!!

Lastly, (and since this IS a fundraiser), let's give the Zenobi Family some peace of mind.  Their world has stopped turning and they have no idea how long it will be before a sense of normalcy returns.  To top it off, only two days before Ed's accident, Colleen lost her job due to company-wide downsizing.  Despite their lives being turned upside-down, their household bills will continue to roll in and Colleen and the kids have the added expense of travelling to and from the hospital each day to be by Ed's side.

Thank you so very much for your kindness, compassion and generosity during this most difficult time.  It is so very much appreciated.
