TEAM UP FOR TRAV

Donation protected

Hi everyone,
For those of you who haven't heard, my son Travis Laur has had a recent relapse in his cancer. The news has been devastating, and heart wrenching for our family.
For those of you who have yet to have the privilege of knowing Travis, he is without a doubt one of the kindest souls, with a humble about him that many envy. September 25th 2014, Travis was given the news that has since changed his life in ways no person should have to endure. He was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma, he underwent 8 months of weekly chemotherapy, 30 days of radiation and countless scans and clinic visits. In order to receive the best treatment possible, he decided on a treatment team in London, this meant hundreds of trips to and from London. During this time Travis was unable to work, funding was few and far between. Thankfully on July 18th 2015, Travis received the news he had been waiting for.. He had a complete response to the therapy and was officially in remission. We could not have been more grateful. He continued to see his treatment team every 3 months to assure his counts were good, and no signs of disease were to arise. In September of 2015, Travis and his girlfriend Kenzie were surprised with a blessing they were told was likely no longer an option after his aggressive treatments. They were expecting a beautiful baby in May of 2016! Our family couldn't have been more excited to start off a healthy life with a new purpose. Travis continued to be well. Rashes arose in April of 2016, not concerning at this point. My grandson, Theo was born healthy and perfect May 18, 2016. A new Travis was also born that day. In August of 2016, our worst nightmare came true, a precautionary PET scan had confirmed another mass was found in his chest. Hodgkins Lymphoma is unfortunately more tricky if relapsed. In order to induce his chances of survival, he would have to undergo 6-12 weeks of another type of aggressive second-line chemotherapy, following an allo stem cell transplant. That leaves us to where we are today, He is undergoing GDP chemotherapy in London currently, this has meant an abundance of weekly and sometimes daily trips to and from London, several new medications some of which have not been covered by his CCAC benefits. If all goes well he is scheduled to start his transplant December 14, 2016 where he will be hospitalized for 4 weeks as he undergoes the biggest fight yet. Up until now, our family along with Kenzies has done our very best to help with financial, moral and emotional support for Travis, Kenzie and their children Cali(8), and Theo(5months). Unfortunately things continue to pile up around them. Kenzie has taken initiative to return to work early, but is fighting to put in enough hours between the children, and the in and outs of hospitals. This is where im asking for your help, as friends and family.

We are holding a benefit for Travis and his family December 10, However I have received more than a few requests for another donation option as some are not able to make it or are located out of town.  So, to avoid email transfers to multiple people etc, I have decided to create a common ground. We hope to see everyone on December 10, but if for some reason you are unable to attend and still interested in supporting Travis and his family during this dark time, please do so here. I know Travis is speechlessly grateful for all of the support, I would like to thank everyone of you aswell.

All my love,

Cilynne Laur
