Team Nick and Cole

On May 24, 2018, a group of Auburn Geoscience undergraduate students were mapping for a project near the shoulder of US Hwy 431 in Gadsden, Alabama when a pickup truck swerved off the highway and hit two of the students, Nick Hood and Cole Burton.
Both students were life flighted to the UAB hospital in Birmingham and are currently in the Neuro ICU.
Nick Hood has both legs broken, a broken ankle, broken pelvis and sacrum, broken shoulder, internal injuries, some facial fractures, and some brain leakage. He was placed in a medically induced coma. Nick has had surgery to insert rods in his legs.
Cole Burton was immediately taken to surgery to repair the damage done to his abdomen. He had holes in his intestines and a tear in his colon. He has broken ribs and a broken finger. He also has a brain bleed and is currently in a non-medically induced coma.
Both remain in serious but stable condition.
Updates are being posted on the Facebook page “Pray for Cole”
The money raised will go directly to the two families involved. We are hoping to help cover medical expenses, housing expenses for out of town family, etc. Anything would be very beneficial to the family at this time! Thank you so much! #TeamNickCole

(GoFundMe does not distribute withdrawals to two different beneficiaries - Nick and Cole's families.  Therefore, I have set it up to have withdrawals made to my father, Michael Milich, who will immediately exchange those funds into two Cashiers Checks which will be mailed out to the families as quickly as possible. GoFundMe charges a small processing fee at the time of withdrawal, but the remaining balance will go to the Hood and Burton designated family member.  Thank you all again!)
