Family, loved ones, friends and future friends; this Go Fund Me account has been created for Greyson Venturo, son of Lauren and Marcus Venturo, best buddy and little brother to Harper and Cannon Venturo. He is many things to many people and he has already made a huge impact on all of our lives. This is a chapter from the great story of Greyson's life. A life that those who love him know will be a long and beautiful one, filled with tales of adventure, joyful memories, deep love and kindness. Greyson entered the world just over one year ago. He was, as all new life is, a miracle. But Greyson was an extra special miracle. He and his mother would spend the first few weeks of his life in the hospital together, as they both faced mutiple serious complications during his delivery. One of which being that his umbilical cord was tied in three knots at his time of his birth. The odds were stacked against him, but being the miracle that he is, he persevered and has graced his family with his loving little presence ever since. Two weeks after celebrating his very first birthday, the lives of Greyson and his family would change forever. On a Tuesday morning in January, Greyson and his parents shuffled into the office of his pediatrician for his big one-year checkup, completely unprepared for the news they were about to receive. Lauren and Marcus Venturo were told that their baby displayed symptoms of leukemia and were imidiately sent to Phoenix Children's Hospital. It was there that their worst fear became their new reality. Greyson was diagnosed with high risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) on 1/9/2018. After being diagnosed, Greyson and his parents spent the next week at Phoenix Children's Hospital while he endured exhausting spinal taps, blood transfusions, his first round of chemotherapy treatments and all of the miserable side effects that came along with them. He was a trooper through it all. Over the next three years (minimum) Greyson will need even more spinal taps, blood transfusions, chemotherapy, doctor visits and extended stays in the hospital. Depending on the results of his blood work, there will likey be times when he will be unable to go out into the public, and even play with his two best buddies for risk of infections. Watching their child endure such painful extremes has been a devastating and helpless feeling for Lauren and Marcus. No parent should ever have to know the horror of watching their child fight for his life. In so many ways, we wish there was a way to calm their fear, soothe their pain, to carry this heavy load for them. Although we can not necessarily do that, we can help. We have the great power of giving the gift of peace of mind and the comfort in knowing that having the financial resources to help their baby persevere once again is one less thing they need worry over.
