TCS 2018 NYC Marathon

Hi family and friends!
Our names are Sydney Keane and Aly Leahy and this November, we will be running the TCS New York City Marathon. We have decided to run for many reasons but will be raising money for two primary causes: Team For Kids and the American Cancer Society.
We will be running on the Team For Kids in support of NYRR Youth Programs. Team for Kids is a team of adult runners who raise funds for critical services provided by New York Road Runners youth programs. These programs empower youth development and encourage healthy habits via running and character-building programs across the country. Sports have made an immeasurable impact on both of our lives and we have been teammates on the Union College Women’s soccer team together the past 4 years. By running with Team For Kids we hope to spread access to athletic programs to kids throughout the country.
Although we got our bibs from Team for Kids, we will also be running for the American Cancer Society in memory of Tom Casper. Tom was a kind, caring, sports fanatic who lost his hard fought battle to Cancer this past March. Each and every one of us has somehow been affected by this horrible disease and no one else should have to grow up without a father or mother, brother or sister, or husband or wife. Tom’s bravery in the face of his diagnosis is what we will carry with us throughout the 26.2 miles. Together we will be running to honor his memory and continue his fight so that one day all cancer can be cured.
We greatly appreciate any support at all and hope that you can help us reach our goal to both help kids and finish the fight against cancer together!
