The Brain Injury Video Channel
A brain injury happens in the U.S. every 13 seconds... to people just like you and me. And when it happens, that person enters into a brand new world, often lost and confused, often misunderstood by their healthcare providers, misunderstood by their family and friends, and often, abandoned, and alone without the tools and support they need.
Even though brain injuries happen to Americans 1.7 million times per year, I never thought a brain injury would happen to me.
I had a 10-year career in neuroplasticity. I have helped hundreds of clients re-wire their brains using hypnosis in a medical office for better mental, emotional, and physical health. I have helped my clients heal their bodies of serious illnesses, and shift out of trauma, anxiety and depression. I knew this stuff. I had all the tools. I was well connected in both traditional and complementary medicine communities.
So when sailing through a storm landed me with a brain injury, I thought. "OK, I have been dealt this hand, because if anyone can heal this, I can. I am going to heal my brain and then teach others how I did it. This will be my biggest contribution to the world. I am unstoppable. I can do this."
Well… it turns out, I was in for a humbling ride.
I have made huge strides in the last five years since I was diagnosed with dementia at the age of 48. I have travelled to experts, worked with countless modalities, and continue to search for what will bring the next step of a meaningful life. I started a blog, I started speaking publicly, I was a Keynote Speaker, I was on the news, The Oprah Winfrey Network, and I was asked to join Vermont's Brain Injury Advisory Board.
I like to focus on what I CAN do, not the many things I still CAN'T do. While processing motion and vision
are still very challenging, what I CAN do, is sit and talk. What I CAN do is share my vast wealth of information about healing and happiness, and offer a dose of inspiration to make a difference in the world.... even when I still struggle to leave my house. I believe in making meaning out of our suffering.
Five years ago, there was very little information out there. I had to dig hard to find it. I have recorded hundreds of hours of raw video speaking with specialists and experts in the TBI field, as well as the real experts, other survivors. I have video footage of my own recovery including exercises, treatments, adaptations, coping tools and techniques that I have learned for daily living. I did it not just for me, but for everyone with brain injuries!
Now I need help getting these videos edited and published online. I can not do this myself, and once again, I humbly accept my limitations. I do not get paid for this and am donating my time for something I am passionate about. I want this information to be accessible to everyone free of charge.
This is a very important project. One of the terrible things about acquiring a Traumatic Brain Injury is the lack of information and support. Diagnoses are commonly missed or dismissed. Survivors are left on their own to figure it out, without the cognitive abilities to do so.
Let's give them the tools.
Not only will this project give resources and support to those with Traumatic Brain Injury, but it will mean so much to me personally. I want nothing more than to create a contribution out of the incredible challenge I have lived through.
We need funds to edit the videos and put them up online on a regular basis for subscribers. We need funds to create the website and also to edit the book I have been writing for 5 years. I have over 400 pages written... in varying stages of my recovery and writing ability, and it will be a large project to make it flow smoothly and be the unique contribution it is going to be.
We are launching this web-tv channel March 1, for Traumatic Brain Injury Awareness Month, and have only 30 days before that to raise the funds.
I never want anyone again to go through this without the information, support, and encouragement they need. Living with a TBI is challenging enough, and I want to put a stop to the needless part of the suffering.
That is why I am asking for your help.
On behalf of the 5.3 million Americans, a whopping 2% of our population, currently living with disabilities due to a Traumatic Brain Injury, I thank you with all my heart for your donation and your support.

I wanted to give you an update about the difference your contribution to my GoFundMe has made.
My videos continue to come out each week, and have now had over 22,000 views since we started 6 months ago!
I can't begin to tell you the stories coming in from people from all over the world. So many people with brain injuries are isolated, misunderstood, and invalidated, and tell me how much these videos have meant to them. They tell me the videos bring them calm, reassurance, information, hope, connection, and even the will to live.
I wanted to share a gift of these two videos with you. I picked two that I think are helpful to anyone with a brain! The first is about understanding the Executive Function part of your brain, and why it is hard sometimes to focus and get stuff done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FX-bh6fieY
The second is an interview with Nora Gedgaudas, a Neurofeedback practitioner and nutrition expert. She will illuminate and entertain you in teaching you how to eat for optimal brain function. https://youtu.be/4xH5OX0DMm4?list=PLyZCQFut7CKUZYcmtQuoZER5Hy0fcJ_ql
If you know anyone with a brain injury, please send them to my YouTube Channel. www.YouTube/c/TheTBICoach
I hope you enjoy these videos and I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!
I am giving thanks again for your contribution that has allowed me to make this happen!
Be Well, Nathalie
I just want you to know what a difference your donation is already making. My YouTube channel is up and I am posting a new video every Friday. We have gotten over 4,200 views in our first six weeks! People who really need guidance and getting helped and continue to break my heart with letters like this one I got today.
"Hi, I've have been struggling with brain symptoms for two years and five months from a car wreck. I looked at the YouTube videos and you have a lot of the same things I feel with vision problems. I've been told I'm fine since my MRI and cat scan of my brain are ok but I have pressure on my head constantly, flooding of info when I try to go to any store, cognitive fatigue after 3-4 hours, feel unbalanced, and see double and shaky vision. My neurologist said I'm depressed and crazy. What should I do?"
I was told the same thing, so many of us are! It drives me to keep up the momentum to raise awareness of TBI and the things that can be done to help the brain heal.
Please keep the donations coming, and if you can, please let others know about our YouTube channel. Here is the link to it. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCw_4ry7pSKgj2onk82R72Tg
Thanks again for your partnership!
Here is a letter I received this morning after a radio interview I did this weekend. We are making a difference. Thanks so much for being a part of this project!

Wishing you a day filled with gratitude for this gift of life,
I'm listening to your interview with Angela right now. Loss of dignity, shame, loss, grief, identity - all of it resonates with me, with so many who have sustained a TBI I'm sure. I have struggled for way too long with the need to be perfect, to be doing and doing, always contributing, as if this is the magic formula that makes us worthy. Thank goodness for meditation - it's helped a lot, I have a long way to go. Thank you, thank you for sharing your harrowing trauma, for your candor, your humor, your bravery, all of it!
We have made our first milepost! The TBI Coach YouTube channel is up and running. We have had nearly 1,000 views in the first 4 days! Even more amazing, this happened while I am so busy editing dozens more videos that I have not had any time to publicize the channel yet!
Our first 8 videos are up here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCw_4ry7pSKgj2onk82R72Tg A new video will be released every Friday and sent to those who sign up at www.thetbicoach.com
I am so proud to bring this information out, that does not currently exist in this way.
Thanks for helping to spread the word to your networks.
Good things are coming!
My wife is "in the middle" of a TBI, and this video and info was soooo helpful... to both of us. Thank you for your great work!!
Nathalie, I am delighted to support your efforts and I share your desire to establish support for fellow TBI survivors. Providing positive encouragement and meaningful resources fills a need that I have experienced in my own journey post TBI. Healing has been a daunting journey and I find meaningful encouragement in the shared experiences of others on this path. thank you fo r your efforts!
