Historic Church Transformation Project
Timothy Baptist Church is a historical building located in the heart of Roxbury, Massachusetts. Although our building is small, we meet many large goals, which benefit local and surrounding area residents. A few of our Outreach Ministry events are: Free Vacation Bible School serving many families throughout Boston and surrounding communities, Annual Community Day, which includes a cookout, clothing giveaway and fun and games for all; and the second Sunday of every month is designated as Friends and Family Day where fresh flowers decorate the sanctuary and are given to the sick and shut in or visitors after service. We have a strong Youth Department who not only offers opportunities for our youth, but has a game night every three months for the community. The Men of Valor Ministry mentors male youth and offers safe alternatives in an effort to equip them with skills to make positive life decisions which will affect themselves and their communities.
The church offers weekly Bible Study, at minimum, 3 to 4 days per week including an in home study for the sick and shut in. Our Missionaries provide hot meals to those in need once per month, food baskets on major holidays and other assistance whenever necessary and possible.
In June 2014 Timothy Baptist Church began Phase I of an extreme makeover. A Mission Team came from North Carolina and did a phenomenal job on the interior of our church. The labor was free and we were responsible for purchasing all materials needed for this intense project. (Please see article in Bay State Banner, July 10th) Due to time constraints and skills, funding our work continues. We are doing our very best, but we need your help in raising $60,000 necessary to complete the work. All tax deductible donations will be used for upgrades, as well as, contractor fees. Please know there is no contribution too small or large. Any donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
