Hello everyone, first I want to thank you for reading this. My names Taylor Stroop. So, if you know me I don’t particularly like asking for help. But I have recently learned a life lesson that if you don't ask you don't receive. So, I have come to the terms that in life sometimes you need to ask for help. And this is one of those times.
If you don’t know. I have Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis is a chronic lung condition that effects 20-30k people in the US and 70k worldwide. The disease is life threatening. I am so very blessed to say I am as healthy as I am. I have been blessed with good health and an amazing support system.
So to the reason I started this GoFundMe. I had been hospitalized about three years ago, due to me going to the ER because I felt like I couldn't breathe. It ended up being a CF exacerbation. Pretty much a buildup of infections in my lungs that caused a lot of inflammation. Well I was hospitalized for about 2 weeks and slapped with a $40,000 bill after my stay. I was not informed while my stay that my insurance had refused to pay for any of treatments, etc.
After going back and forth with the hospital and insurance company it ended up being that my hospital was not on their list of approved medical facilities. So, my parents and I were stuck with the bill. We figured out a monthly plan and started making payments. Now we owe $29107.28.
My parents are absolutely the best parents a son could ask for. They both work full time jobs to pay for 4 kids college tuitions, my medical bills, insurance, and their daily living expenses. I started this GoFundMe because I want to take the burden of this bill off their back. They don’t deserve this. I do my best to help them when and how ever I can but I can only do so much. I have reached out to foundations asking for help but was denied. I will continue to reach out to new foundations as they are recommended by you.
I have learned that the support, encouragement, and generosity of this community is beyond measure. This community has showed me time and time again that we can come together when each other need it the most. You guys have supported me through everything I have endured and I thank you for all that you have done.
Any donation is greatly appriciated and even if we dont reach our whole goal it will lessen the burden of this bill over our heads. It will be truely life changing.
