This page is to help me fundraise for Yale Men's Rugby tour to Hong Kong and Japan in March of 2018. This is a two-week-long tour where we will train alongside international teams, participate in events leading up to the Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan, and build relationships with rugby clubs across Asia. Although we have received a number of generous donations from alumni, we are tasked with raising over $30,000 in order to fund the trip's expenses and sponsor students who may not otherwise be able to afford to go.
I started my rugby journey in 2011 at ACS (Independent) – I've since played this sport for over 6 years. This year, I've travelled across the Pacific to play #2 (Hooker) on Yale's team (and also to attend 4 years of college education). The experience has been extraordinary – not just enjoying the same sport in two different cultures, but being able to learn and grow with a different bunch of people. I would be really grateful if you could play a part in enhancing this journey for my teammates and me, as we seek to challenge and develop our team through our tour of Asia.
My goal is to raise $500, and I will wear a bunny costume to class for a week if I exceed my goal by the end of Oct 26 (that's 11.59am Oct 27 for my Singaporean friends) . I will also give regular picture updates on social media to ensure I am keeping to my word.
If you would be willing to donate, it would mean the world to myself, my teammates, and the many coaches who put countless hours into developing this team; additionally, you will receive updates from the tour, including videos of our day-to-day training and daily recaps of our adventures from the tour scribe. Even if you do not care about the sport of rugby, if you would like to see me awkwardly making my way around campus as an oversized Bugs Bunny, then please consider donating.
