Tarevah's Insulin Pump and Glucose Monitor

Tarevah Sheahart was just a co-worker, but after years on the same shift together, she is more of a sister. A Denver 911 family member. Tarevah suffers from Type 1 diabetes. She was diagnosed when she was just 9 years old. Type 1 diabetes is tough for a child to handle, but it's just as tough when you are an adult. Tarevah had a change in her insurance, which means she has had to change the type of insulin she is allowed to use. This has been a struggle as the new one is different and doesn't work for her as well as the previous one. This also means Tarevah needs a new insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor. The one-time cost for her is $700. Unfortunately, since taking in two foster children and caring for her own children, Tarevah is struggling financially. Most of us have been there. Due to several unexpected expenses (anyone got an old washing machine that works?) the money to pay the up-front costs just isn't there. This insulin pump and continuous  glucose monitor will improve Tarevah's quality of life. It won't be instrumental, but it will definitely be a HUGE help to get her diabetes under control.  As some of you may know EVERTHING in life affects blood sugar, including stress. By having a CGM she will be able to better predict lows as well as highs. Tarevah's work as a 911 Operator is to serve those who call in and need help. I have witnessed her doing amazing work - including encouraging a man to provide CPR to his wife when he thought it wasn't working - the CPR did work. Let's help our friend. Our goal is to see if everyone can chip in just a small dollar amount. We hope those will add up to enough to get the equipment she needs.
