Taras Ostashewsky Funeral Expenses

I am raising money to help cover the costs of the funeral arrangements for the unexpected passing of our dear friend Taras Ostashewsky. Taras was a great man and would go out of his way to engage with his friends. He was a lifelong resident of Edmonton, AB. He was well known from his involvement at CJSR, SU Records, Jazz City International Music Festival, The Gramophone, Edmonton Film Society, and elsewhere. As we have learned this past Thursday, Taras passed away unexpectedly and this has been devastating for his family and friends. The costs of a funeral can be unbelievably high so all funds raised here will go directly to his family to help them make sure that Taras is remembered in the best way they choose. Thank you to all!
All sums donated will be given directly to the family to be used for funeral costs or additional expenses. Any additional donations after the initial $7,000 goal is reached, will be placed into a trust fund that is setup by the family and will be used to alleviate additional expenses associated with bringing closure to a life so fully lived.

EDIT: I have been friends with Taras since the mid-90s, and a close personal friend the past several years. At the conclusion of a campaign GoFundMe's typical means of withdraw is by email request. As Taras's mother does not use the internet I will be withdrawing all of the donations to a new bank account I set up expressly and solely for this campaign. I will personally deliver, with a bank draft, the funds raised. Anyone is welcome to view the transaction records upon request. As soon as GoFundMe approves my request to withdraw the funds it will take 2-5 business days for the funds to release. I have been requesting the funds since June 21; I had really hoped to have them in the family's hands within a couple days. My goal is now revised to next week.
I had the opportunity to thank many of you personally at his service on Friday. For those I missed, I thank you on behalf of the family for your generous support.
