I am seeking your help in medical bill payment after having several health conditions, multiple ER visits, several hospital stays, numerous scans & tests - all without any insurance.
In February 2017 I had a sudden onset of severe headaches that I was not able to stand up. This lasted for 3 weeks until, after numerous doctor visits, a head CT scan and injections into my head. I was finally sent for a brain MRI which showed either blood, fluid or a mass on my brain - the radiologist didn't know what it was and I was sent to the ER within an hour of the MRI.
There I had another CT scan. After further review of my previous MRI the Doctors came to the conclusion I had CSF fluid on my brain and there was a leak in my spine somewhere. A blood patch was done and 3 days later I felt better. The leak was fixed - so we thought.
Then the headaches came back 3 weeks later - and they never go away & are debilitating. Numerous ER visits, hospital stays, ambulance transports, more doctor visits with the top specialists, more tests, every different kind of medication tried and no relief.
Now a myelogram - spinal tap, full spinal x-ray, full spinal CT scan, full spinal MRI and another brain MRI. (This alone was a test over $14,000) Inconclusive.
We are still searching for the cause of my headaches and some way to treat them and get some type of relief as they never go away.
With medical charges mounting towards $40,000 we are searching for help to pay them.
I am self-employed - didn't work for over 3 months. No insurance. My husband is retired, his SSI only covers part of our house rent.
Running a very small MMA gym, I am struggling to keep bills paid for both the business and home let alone the surmounting medical bills.
