Tapestry Ministry Pilgrimage

Donation protected

Seattle Unity's Tapestry Ministry have designed and created 11 tapestries illustrating 11 major world spiritual paths. These tapestries, adorning our sanctuary, are powerfully meaningful to our congregation and to our visitors, being a touchstone and an affirmation of the truth of all spiritual faiths. See more about the project at http://seattleunity.org/spiritual-practice/multi-faith-connections/.

For the 12th and final tapestry, about the Baha'i faith, we plan to go in May on a field trip to the North American Baha'i House of Worship, which is in Chicago, Illinois, with our spiritual leader, Rev. Karen Lindvig. She grew up in Chicago, and was deeply influenced by the Baha'i House of Worship.

Each time we design one of these tapestries, and its accompanying altar, we immerse ourselves in that particular faith, in order to create an image giving an emotional depth connection to the faith. Taking at least a year to design each one, we explore each faith in detail, looking for the passion and the truth in the religion.

The individuals in the Tapestry Ministry are retired, or work in the non-profit sector, and many could not afford to travel this distance to deepen our connections with the Baha'i faith. The generosity of our friends and community will make this journey of a lifetime possible.

Thank you for your generosity in helping us reach our dream, and in donating now to our upcoming May pilgrimage!
