Talulah's Education Fund - Colin Peterson

On Monday 7/15 my brother Colin passed away. Colin was treasured by many people, with friends all over the world from all walks of life. He left a lasting impression with everyone he knew. Whether you were one of his close friends, someone he worked with, someone he met traveling, his morning barista or one of his clients, he had a gift for connecting with people in a unique and special way – even complete strangers. For those of you who knew Colin well, you know that his lack of having a filter was often the best part of a conversation with him. He knew better than anyone how to lighten the mood with a joke or story, even if the material might have been a bit inappropriate.

Colin worked harder than anyone I know, he was extremely talented at his craft, had an unmatched eye for detail and worked at a blistering pace all to ensure that his friends and clients had a space they were proud of and could call home. He was not only a builder of homes but also a builder of relationships, bringing people together with ease no matter their differences. Although he was a big guy, he had a gentle spirit and a kind heart.

Over the last few years Colin and I both had the joy of becoming fathers. It was fun to begin that journey around the same time and watch Colin take on a new role in his life. He was an amazing dad to his daughter Talulah and she was the most important thing in his life. She was his greatest joy and filled him with light. The hardest part of saying goodbye to him is knowing that he won’t be here to watch her grow up. However, it brings us peace to know that the people who loved Colin care just as deeply about Talulah and we know she will have a village of people supporting her.

Let’s show Talulah how much we loved her dad by doing one last thing to honor his memory. Any funds raised will be held in an education savings account exclusively for Talulah's college education.

Our family will be hosting a public Celebration of Life event for Colin on Friday August 16 at 3:00 pm at Gale Woods Farm. 7210 County Rd 110 W, Minnetrista, MN 55364. All family, friends, clients and children are welcome. We will share more information when the event gets closer, but in the meantime we would appreciate any photos you have of your time with Colin over the years. Feel free to post them on his Facebook page or message me on Facebook to get my email address/phone number.

Lastly, on behalf of my family I want to thank everyone for their love and support the last few days. Our family has received many calls and messages, many of which we haven’t had the chance to respond to yet. It’s amazing to see the large number of lives Colin impacted.
