Hi, I’m Taleena.
I write songs about my life, and then I sing them.
Recording my debut album has been a long time coming and I am just as equally thrilled as I am nervous to finally be heading into the studio in the middle of this year. I’m still in the process of writing and finalising my songs, but what I’m certain of is that this album will be a complete tell-all regarding my life so far.
In the last few years, I have played at multiple festivals, played before the Hoodoo Gurus, and played on the same line-up as The Black Sorrows and Adam Brand. I’ve been able to do what I love, because I have had continued support from countless individuals who have made this career path possible for me. I am now hoping to draw on that support a little more and further my career, by creating this crowd funding campaign.
About Me
I’ve loved music from the get-go, my parents brought me up on the likes of Johnny Cash and Ray Charles to Shania Twain and The Dixie Chicks. My childhood was spent singing into a hairbrush and dressing up with my siblings and performing for whoever would listen. I loved it when I was four years old and I love it even more now.
Details
The recording of the tracks will take place in The Barn Recording Studio in Plainland, which is approx. 75 kilometres west of Brisbane. I will be working with the talented Steve Robin, who will record and produce the album, tracking six songs. There will be a single release prior to the album launch.
Expenditures
In order to release my debut EP album, I will need to raise funds to assist with the recording, session musicians, mixing and mastering, advertising, CD replication, EP Launch and touring. Ultimately, these donations will allow me to make the best possible music I can, which is the most important, fundamental part of releasing this album.
The costs for recording an album are quite high, and this is where your generosity becomes an essential aspect to this project. Whether it is a $1, $10 or even $100 donation, I will be incredibly grateful. Presented below is a very basic justification of costs, where I have included the bare minimum required for a successful release.
Recording at The Barn Recording Studio - $2,800.00
Advertisement - $800.00
CD Replication - $2,000.00
Album Launch - $1,000.00
Mixing and Mastering - $900.00
