Taking care of Sandra

Dearest Friends,

Sandra Hamlin left her body late on the evening of July 9th.
She was surrounded by a circle of women she had called to be close to her, during her final year, and days. Although Sandra was not awake during much of the last days, she certainly was awakened !!
We laughed, cried, meditated, ate, sang, listened to beautiful music, created an altar, told stories, read to her, offering native poems and ceremoniously washed her body. As she departed she was peaceful, filled with a youthful glow and grace…clearly free of suffering and this earthly plane.
She traveled down the river of life with fortitude, resilience, a generous, loving, kind, inquisitive and persistent nature.
I know many of you joined together for a prayer circle last night, or spent private moments throughout the last day honouring her in your own way.

I know Sandra loved you all, and she would say to you….
