SPONSOR A TAI FELLOW
The Teaching Artist Institute(TAI) Fellowship engages Artist and Artisan in an evidenced based curriculum that teaches the importance of using creative expression as a tool for social transformation and provides a healthy environment for incubating interdisciplinary community development projects. By undergoing a four stage right of passage, participants learn the core tenants of teaching artistry in order to understand our global cultural and artistic economy, identify a method for including an element of creative social responsibility into all forms of knowing, and contribute an effective addition to the symbolic landscape of their local environment.
Goals of Fellowship
1. To cultivate, promote and support the community development projects of Teaching Artists Fellows
2. To provide opportunities for global field studies and a stage to demonstrate competency on a local level for Artist and Artisan
3. To establish a network of fellow Teaching Artists
4. To foster in fellows a recognition and understanding of the influential nature of art in social transformation
Teaching our fellows to "act locally but think globally" invovles immersion, opportunities for cross cultural communication and expeditionary learning abroad. This fellowship class will journey to host the second Annual Independence tour to Ghana March 4th - 12th 2017
The cost of travel, accommdation and all on grounds activites for one fellow is $2,700.00. This tax dediductable donation will provide a social return on your investment for the Symbolic Landscape of Arts and Culture for many generations to come.
