The Allen's Fire Tragedy Fund
On October 21, my brother Patrick & his wife Robin Allen lost their home and all of their possessions in a tragic fire. Thankfully they, and their two sweet girls Izzy & Charlie, are safe as they were not home at the time.
With a tragedy on this scale there are immediate expenses that will be incurred and as anyone knows, insurance is not often timely with replacing little girls shoes, work clothes, toiletries, and this case a their vehicle as well.
I am asking for immediate help to cover their expenses while they sort out all of the legal details and sift through ashy memories.
Many know that Patrick & Robin are care pastors at their local church, where Robin also works, and they are first on the scene when others are in despair, need, etc.
Thank you for giving to the family that has been there for so many others.
-Rachel (aka HoneyRachel)
First off, thank you to everyone who ha donated ANYTHING…time, money, gifts…we have been blessed by the outpouring of support and it's been greatly needed.
As of yesterday the fire investigator confirmed that the fire started from a power outlet on the back porch, so it was electrical.
Here is what happened in Robin's words:
"That afternoon around 4pm we were all at different places throughout the home doing our own things when something inside me wanted to leave.
So I got dressed & encouraged the girls and Patrick to get ready so we could go do something fun. We were out of the house at record breaking time (for our family anyway). Leaving the house, I looked at the clock & it said 4:20. The first phone call made reporting smoke coming from our home was at 4:30.
If you don't believe in God, His grace, & His divine protection please hear our story & give God a chance.
If you trust Him he will never fail you. He will never leave you and even when you don't understand He will provide comfort, peace, & encouragement.
God is writing us a new chapter. It is not easy but it is His will for our lives.
You never know how 10 minutes can change your life forever. Even though it seems like in this picture that we have lost everything. We still have a King who sits on the throne, who reigns in majesty, & who holds our whole world in the palm of His hand. Today, because of that King my daughters are still breathing, my husband is still here for me, & I can still experience the fullness of this life!"
They are currently living in temporary housing as they search of a new home and continuing to serve as care pastors for others in their community despite their own loss. Please keep sharing so we can meet our goal of $10K so ease the transition for Patrick, Robin and the Girls into this new chapter of life.
Remember storage is a big issue for them, so gift cards are very helpful at this point:
PO Box 889
Thank you all!
Gift Cards. If you have any lying around the house that you can donate or would like to purchase new ones please send those to their PO Box! For E-Gift cards message me on this page. They live rural so here are places they will have to buy from:
- Gas Cards (shell or Exxon)
- JC Penney
- Payless Shoes
- Dollar Tree
- Fast Food (Zaxby's, Sonic, McDonald's, Dairy Queen)
- Starbucks (Pat has a long commute to Birmingham and it would be nice to treat him)
PO Box 889
The photos will show you what is left of the house…NOTHING. We still don't know what started the fire.
Please direct any questions to ME on this page. We need to give them time to sort things out and grieve, so please hold off on contacting them for now…a card in the mail to their PO Box would be very thoughtful.
Thank you all!

Anything they have excess of or can't use will be donated to another family in need…Thank you!
Once we get more of a handle on the situation I will be making an amazon prime registry that people may purchase from as well, they are already realizing just how much they will need to replace.
Thank you so much to everyone who is donating and for all of the prayers…our family is ever so grateful!
