Ruby has heartworms and she needs your help!

About a month ago, I was outside with my boys, when our dog started barking frantically. I turned around to find a 4-foot rattlesnake just a few feet from where Sawyer was playing. If Ruby hadn't warned me, I dont know what would have happened... she very well could have saved Sawyer's life. Now we need your help to save her.

Ruby is a 3-year-old, 98-lb, high-energy Black Lab/German Shepherd mutt. Her previous owners knew they were neglecting her and they reached out to find her a better home. We decided to give her a chance and we immediately fell in love! 4 baths later, she finally smelled as sweet as her personality. We just adopted her into our home 4 months ago... but she already feels like part of the family.

A couple weeks ago, we found HOPE (a vet for low-income families) and we took her in for a checkup. They recommend a preventative heartworm treatment, but they had to do a test to ensure she didn't already have heartworms. The test came back positive. She has had heartworms for over 6 months.

Her life depends on an expensive treatment regimen. Any help would be MUCH appreciated.
