Mr. E's heart health

Jerry Engelson or Mr E is being treated for severe heart failure (his heart is only working at 12%). He is being treated in Sacramento because there are no hospital or doctors in Nevada that do the treatment that is needed for him. Jerry is not a candidate for a transplant, but thanks to medical technology the wonderful doctors at Dignity heart will be able to help him get a better quality of life. The treatment they have decided is best is called a Bivad, a right and left ventricle assist device (partial artificial heart) as destiny therapy which means for the rest of his life.
Mr. E has always been the kind of man to help anyone in need. With a large booming voice and a personality to match he has always given his all in every endeavor he has pursued. One of his favorite ways was helping children learn, as a school teacer he was able to achieve this. Mr. E taught in schools in South Dakota, Wyoming and Nevada before retiring. Even after retirement Mr. E continued to substitute teach until just a few months ago, when his health declined to a point where he wasn't able to anymore.
Anyone one who knows Jerry will tell you he has never met a stranger. He kind strike up a conversation with anyone about anything.
With this surgeries he will be required to make many, many trips to Sacramento for follow-up care. Jerry and his wife, Diane, will also have to relocate to be within 2 hours of the hospital and doctors. The relocation will last for 3 months to a year (possible longer), depending on how well his heart heals. Currently Jerry is in the hospital because his health is becoming more critical every day. They will be in need of help with travel and lodging expenses during this extremely critical time. They will also have to do some modification to their home in Battle Mountain. The modification will be required to make their home of over 20 years a safe environment for Jerry.
