Thank you for taking time to read our story and to help. On May 26 a day our family will never forget, Frank 37 took our 8 year old out for a day in the woods to come home an hour later not being able to walk. Frank has always been very active he donated his time over the years coaching baseball and now coaches football. So this was a shock to us all. We took him to the ER to find out he needed emergency spinal cord surgery. The MRI showed major permanent damage. They went in through the front of his neck and used a cadaver bone and graphite to repair some of the damage.  He started rehab in the Hospital and after 2 weeks of no improvement and severe pain another MRI showed more damage. They told us that it all couldnt be seen during the first surgery cause of how swollen his spine was. They went in through the back of his neck and put metal plates and rodes from disk 2 thru 8. In February he was laid off his job of over 15 years. Now after this he was told that he will never be able to return to work in the field he was in(security)due to him taking any type of hit he would be paralyzed. On top of all of this he also has CML Chronic Myeloid Leukemia and his body recently stopped responding to his current treatment. He was being seen by a specialist at Hillman prior to this incident and was told that a bone marrow transplant could be in his near future. He is currently on 6 different types of medications, one of which we havent been able to get since the insurance will not cover it. They told us we need to file an appeal the medication is 1500.00 a month with no insurance. His cancer treatment alone is 100 a month. Then add in the 6,000 out of pocket medical expenses that the insurance doesnt cover. He will need physical therapy and lots of in home care that isnt all covered by the insurance. We are begining the long process of social security disability and he has no coverage of short term disability since he was laid off.  Please help to share our story and pass along to anyone and everyone.
