Sylvia Family

Thank you for taking the time to read this. We are writing this on behalf of the Sylvia family in an effort to get ahead of the medical expenses that will not be covered by insurance.   On the evening of February 1st, 8-year-old Abby Sylvia experienced a severe brain aneurysm.  She was medivaced to Wake Forest Baptist for emergency surgery that evening and then underwent another surgery in the early morning hours to relieve pressure.  Abby is a bright and vibrant child who spent 14 days unconscious and on a ventilator.    Her grandparents have traveled down to stay with her siblings while her parents Matt and Tracy are spending their time back and forth between WFBH and their other children at home.  As you can imagine, the medical expenses are going to continue to add up.  Any stress that we can relieve from the family is only going to allow them to focus on Abby's road to recovery.   Any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated by the family.   Thank you in advance for your support

"Abby is in recovery now from her latest surgery. She had a drainage tube inserted in her head to release the excess spinal fluid from building up in her wound . She is sedated and resting in her new room." #AbbyStrong
