On Saturday, July 13, the Southwest Little League 11u All Star team won the District 14 championship. The twelve boys and their coaches worked very hard to fight for an undefeated tournament.
On July 26, the entire team and their families will travel to Taylor, MI to compete in the week long little league state tournament. This trip is a 2 hour drive from Bay City and the players and families will not be able to travel home each night. The expenses that will result from this travel may be challenging. The team is responsible for fundraising in the matter of 2 weeks between the district and state tournament. The time frame is extremely tight and we are asking for help in eleviating some of the costs that come with this opportunity.
Little league does not require a fee to play and this is not a travel baseball team. The purpose of little league is to allow all kids to play baseball. Therefore, when the players do well in their local districts, extra expenses emerge.
