Sweet Peaches

Hello everyone! A few days ago I was informed about a dog who was grossly neglected.  I was shown a picture and tears immediately came to my eyes! She was in bad shape! COMPLETELY matted down to the skin, dirty dirty dirty, smelled so bad you wouldn't believe she was in someone's house, she had a hard timing seeing because there were mats and eye boogies completely crusted over her eyes, and her nails were curled under her paw pads making it hard to walk. I had to take action!!! A colleague of mine took her from her home (her owners gave her up with no regard, thank goodness) and I came to shave her and clean her up. Dispite the constant discomfort she must have been in, she greeted me tail wagging and very happy. Such a sweet girl! I began shaving, but it was just too painful for her. Thankfully I was a vet tech 10+ years and have connections. I was able to bring her in right away to have a little sedation on board so she wouldn't be in pain as I shaved her. Her face was so tightly matted it was almost impossible to shave off. In my 13 years of veterinary experience, this was one of the most severe cases of neglect I've dealt with.  I shaved her, clipped her nails, gave her a nice bath and had her examined by the doctor. Although being in good health, for an 11 year old girl, she needs multiple surgeries. She needs an extensive dental cleaning with extractions, cherry eye correction surgery, a lipoma mass removal, mammary tumor removal, and to top it off, needs to be spayed.  I want to give her the best medical care to ensure her quality of life is TOP NOTCH! She has lived the first 11 years of her life dirty, matted, and neglected and I plan on helping to ensure the rest of her years make up for that! I wish I could pay for everything without batting an eye, but that can't realistically happen. I need your help! I am hoping to raise money for her surgery costs. Anything you can afford to give would help. I would be so grateful, and so would our sweet Peaches! My plan is to foster her until she is healed from surgery, then adopt her to a loving home that will give her all the attention she deserves!
