Sweet D (Marc Dethloff) Funeral and Family Fund

Donation protected
Early this morning, I received a call that changed everything. It was the Police. They needed to speak with me in person immediately.

I was tired from working my full time job as a nurse, and spending every extra moment with Marc at the brand new Pizza and Sandwich Shack that he’s been investing his hard work, creativity and finances in for months now. He recently opened and has been getting an awesome response. It’s been a lot...for both of us.  We’ve been preparing for our baby’s gender reveal party this Sunday and have been spending as much time as possible with big brother to be, 12 year old Brady.

We’ve been burning the candle at both ends. I was exhausted and was confused when I answered the door.  I wasn’t prepared for there to be a Chaplain on my doorstep with the Officers.

They told me he was dead. DEAD.

Single car accident. Likely fell asleep at the wheel.

I didn’t believe them. He had ID they said.

This isn’t happening. I’m confused.

This isn’t happening. We are having a gender reveal this Sunday. Brady is going to be a big brother. We are going to have a baby together in December.

This isn’t happening. We just moved into a new home. We just invested everything into Sweet D’s - his dream.

This isn’t happening. He didn’t have life insurance yet.  We just closed on a new house so there is no equity. Marc left his job to follow his dream.  We were all in.

I wanted to see him.  Needed to see him.

I saw him.

This is happening.

My entire world crashed when he crashed. Our life. Our plans. Our child. Our children.

What am I going to do?

Some of my friends and family have started this Go Fund Me for me and the children. I’m inside the house right now, surrounded by so many who love me. I have no idea that, at this moment, just outside my front door, this is being organized.  They know I need it. They know I could never ask. They know I can’t speak. I can barely breathe.

The monies raised for us through this campaign are coming directly to my bank account and will be used to help pay for my husband’s funeral...and to provide for his children in his absence.

It hasn’t even been a full day yet.

This is happening.

Your prayers, positivity and gifts for the burial of Marc and provision for his children are more appreciated than could be expressed.
