Swansons

The Swansons have been suddenly faced with major illnesses with both of their kids related to a rare genetic condition called Neurofibromatosis Type 1.

Oliver (1) was referred to Seattle Children's Hospital because he had high white blood cell count. On 9/14, he was diagnosed with JMML, which is an extraordinarily rare type of leukemia. They see about 1 case per year at Children’s. The doctors said it has a 50% survival rate, but Oliver’s hopefully is higher than that since they caught it early.

Eliza (2) has optic gliomas (non-malignant but growing tumors) behind both her eyes. These are non-cancerous and not life-threatening, but she will require weekly chemo treatments in Seattle for a year.

Please help lift some of the financial burden from the Swansons who will be dealing with medical, travel, time off work, and other expenses.
